Learn more about the new TD MyAdvantageTM experience | TD Insurance
Thank you for your interest in the new TD MyAdvantage program.
We've kept you, our valued customer, in mind as we design a new driving app experience.
What's changing
Here are some of the new features that program members can expect:
- Maximum discount has increased to 30%. We've increased the maximum potential discount by an additional 5% so safe drivers have the opportunity to benefit from a higher discount than the current program.
- Personalized premium adjustments. Your driving behaviour will be accurately reflected, and a 5-star rating spectrum will make your driving scores easier to understand.
- New driving behaviours. Collecting additional data like distracted driving improves the fairness and accuracy for premium adjustments.
- Easy to use trip management feature. You can review trips each week to ensure your driving is accurately captured.
- Convenient one app solution. TD MyAdvantage will become available directly in the TD Insurance App for mobile devices, so you'll have instant access to both for a seamless experience.
- Easier access without pin resets. Smoother access without restrictions.
- TD Insurance App for policyholders. Easily review payment details or start a claim anytime, anywhere 24/7.
Transparency is important to us, so we wanted to ensure you also understand that with the new program, riskier driving behaviour may cause your premium to increase up to 30%. We anticipate only 5% of customers will receive a premium increase and 95% will either receive a discount or see no impact on premium at the time of assessment.1

Learn about your options
With a new TD MyAdvantage program in the works, you have the option to enrol early so that you're ready for when the program launches. When it's ready, you can expect easy sign-on as we make the TD MyAdvantage program available directly in the TD Insurance Mobile App.
How to keep your program discount
If you choose to participate in the new program, you'll keep the last discount you receive from the current program, as a thank you for joining. These are your options for enrolment:
- Enrol early so that you won't have to worry about enrolment at launch or,
- Enrol within 90 days after the new program launches.
Whether you enrol early or within 90 days after the program launches, your last discount converts to the new program.
Please be aware that if you do not wish to enrol in the new program, you will lose your TD MyAdvantage discount. If you decide to enrol at a later date, you may be eligible for an activation discount instead.
Note: the last discount you're rewarded based on your last assessment while on the current program is the discount that would be eligible for conversion to the new TD MyAdvantage program.
A guide to help you navigate between old and new TD MyAdvantage programs - answers to your top questions
Why is a premium increase being introduced? To remain competitive with industry practices of usage-based driving apps, and accurately reflect individual driving behaviours, the new TD MyAdvantage program will have a maximum 30% surcharge with riskier driving.
How will my data be used? Your data will be collected and used to assess driving behaviours like driving smoothly when accelerating, cornering, braking, driving within the speed limit, and driving distraction-free. Data tracking will ensure we provide accurate scoring information.
Do I have to enrol early to keep my discount? While we encourage early enrolment so that you're ready to activate and enjoy the new program when it launches, you'll still have 90 days from when we launch to enrol and benefit from the current program's discount at your last assessment.
Will I lose my discount if I don't join the new TD MyAdvantage program? Yes, by not joining the TD MyAdvantage program you would lose your discount from the current program's last assessment. You may be eligible for an activation discount if you decide to join the new program later.
What happens if I join the new TD MyAdvantage program and later decide to unenrol? Here's what you can expect if you decided to leave the new program:
- Activation incomplete within 10 days of enrolment: you'd lose any eligible activation discount. You'd re-qualify for an activation discount again if you decided to rejoin later.
- You've received a program discount after an assessment: you'd lose the program discount but may re-qualify for it if you decide to re-join.
- You've received a program surcharge after an assessment: any program surcharge received based on driving behaviour will remain on your policy.
Will I still be assessed at renewal? No, with the new program, assessments are completed every year, 6 months after your policy effective date.
1 This projection for the next TD MyAdvantage program is based on a sample of approximately 28,000 driving scores using Canadian driving data acquired from a third party. The sample is based on driving data from September 2023 - 2024.
